Returns

You have 7 - 14 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.

To be eligible for a return:

  • Your engine, gearbox, or part must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.
  • The item must be in its original condition and packaging (including pallets/crates if applicable).
  • You must provide a receipt or proof of purchase (Invoice number).

Refunds

  • Once we receive your returned item, we will inspect it (checking for fluid contamination, disassembly, or damage) and notify you of the outcome.
  • If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your original method of payment (e.g., EFT or card payment).
  • Refund processing time may vary depending on your financial institution, but typically takes 7–14 business days.

Shipping Costs

  • You will be responsible for paying for your own return shipping costs.
  • Shipping costs are non-refundable.
  • If you receive a refund, the cost of the original shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Exceptions

Certain items are non-returnable, including:

  • Electrical parts (Computer boxes, sensors) once the seal is broken.
  • Special order imports.
  • Clearance or "Voetstoots" sale items.
  • Items damaged due to improper installation.

Damaged or Defective Items?

If you receive a damaged or defective item, please contact us immediately.

We will work with you to resolve the issue promptly by arranging a return, replacement unit, or repair service.

Warranty Claims

Warranty coverage varies depending on the product purchased:

New Crate Engines Minimum 1-2 Year Mechanical Warranty
Remanufactured/Used Engines 3-6 Month Limited Warranty (Check Invoice)
Ancillary Parts (Turbos, etc.) Typically 90-day warranty

To start a warranty claim, you must provide:

  • Proof of Purchase.
  • Proof of Installation by an RMI-Approved mechanic (Invoice/Job card).
  • Photos or description of the issue.

1. How to Initiate

Contact us at info@enginegearboxexperts.co.za or WhatsApp +27 71 974 1595. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you detailed instructions on how and where to ship your pallet/crate.

Important: Items sent back without prior approval will not be accepted.

2. Exchanges

The fastest way to exchange an item is to return the original product. Once the return is accepted and processed, you may place a new order for the replacement.

3. Late or Missing Refunds

If you haven’t received a refund yet, please check your bank account and contact your bank (processing delays are possible). If you have done this and still have not received your refund, contact us immediately.

4. Changes to Policy

Engine & Gearbox Experts reserves the right to modify or update this policy at any time. Changes take effect immediately once posted.
